I got up this morning and did all the housework, S has been working a lot lately they keep asking her to do extra shifts, so whilst even though she’s not here of an evening, she’s still here making her usual amount of mess when she’s around in the daytime, and she’s not been doing any cleaning up or clearing up after herself. I find that a bit unfair and I told her so today when she got up – politely, of course. So the plan is – starting from a blank canvas (or in this case, a clean, spotless home) I am going to clean up after myself and she will clean up and pick up after herself. I talked to her about a roster, so we agreed to alternate turns and vacuum once a week and clean/dust the surfaces, and we should each clean up the kitchen after ourselves. We each have our own bathroom so there are no real cleaning/sharing issues there, except that the washer and dryer and bath are in mine cos it’s bigger so S has to use my bathroom about once per week for her washing, and she likes to take a bath once or twice a week, so I've asked her to wash the bath out once she’s finished. I think that’s only fair, yes?
Work was good, I even made some tips!! I love the smell of freshly roasted coffee, plus I’m good at making coffees and hot chocolates. They have lovely soups and salads and their lasagne looks so good, I’ll have to try it though as you can’t tell just by looking, but it smells great. The chef is a young guy Ned, and his mother Audrey takes orders, makes coffees, and serves over the counter for takeaway cakes and pre-made sandwiches. Me and another girl Nina do table service, run the food, clear up, help with coffees and counter service if it’s real busy, and keep on top of the washing up. It’s pretty full on, my feet are sore after a 7-hour split shift. I started at 11 and learned how they set up for lunch, then had a few hours off after lunch and started back at 6 for the evening crowd. I've been home and freshened up and am ready to hit the town with Jules to do some dancing. Si said he might go out as well, haven’t seen him in a couple of days as he’s been with his dad.
